- Technically, I am not even a newbie yet.
-
- I am a student, and am a fairly strong C programmer. I have
- written many C programs and enjoy it. ALL of these programs have been
- written in structured C and have never even written a VISUAL or object
- oriented program of any kind.
- I would like to start some minor software development of my own,
- and would like to start to learn Visual C and Object Oriented Technology.
- I have two questions:
-
- 1.) Is Visual C the best object oriented language to start with? I know
- that I evolved my way up the ladder to C from basic and pascal and
- structured language... should I do the same for the visual aspect?
-
- 2.) I can obtain visual C for windows95 at a student price of $143
- (canadian) through my school... is this a good price or can I get it
- cheaper somewhere else.
-
- I am currently reading a book called Object Oriented Technology by David
- Taylor which is explaining the whole concept of OOP in a non-language based
- scenario and it is helping. I am just worried that I am going to buy VC
- and end up not knowing how to use it. Any help would be appreciated.
